You can find comfortable accommodation in the Pihel guest house, which is hidden at the foothills of Lužické Mountains in a picturesque landscape. Our guest house lies between two Czech towns Nový Bor and Česká Lípa and is situated by the main road 1/9. Our guests are accommodated in comfortable rooms and suites. Some of them have a romantic touch of vintage style. Accommodation is suitable not only for business trips, during which you can gain new energy for the next day, but due to its location, Pihel is also a great place for tourists, who can find plenty of destinations, interesting corners and a lot of fun there. The Czech Central Highlands, which merge into the conical hills and hillocks of the Lužické Mountains, can be seen from the guest house´s windows.
Accommodation is offered in four double rooms and one single room. In the tranquil part of the garden, there is a bungalow with 2 apartments for 2 persons and for 2-4 persons. You can sit in a summer house, which is situated near the bungalow. In case of interest, we are able to provide an extra bed. The rooms and apartments have a kitchenette with coffee or tea included in the price. Free Wi-Fi connection and TV/SAT in the rooms are provided. The guest house is non-smoking!
Our guests can spend pleasant evenings in the peaceful garden near the guest house, where there is a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and the nearby pond. It is possible to use the grill. The closest restaurant is 2 km away, or pizza can be delivered.
By prior arrangement, we can also accommodate your four-legged family member. Furthermore, the guest house offers bicycle storage, or in winter, ski and snowboard storage. Our guests can park right in front of the guest house.
Check in is from 15:00 until 20:00. Check out is within 10.00 a.m. Other times can be arranged by prior agreement.

The magical landscape in the surroundings attracts filmmakers to shoot fairy tales, the most famous are Pyšná princezna (Panská rock near Kamenický Šenov), S čerty nejsou žerty, Z pekla štěstí, Peklo s pronceznou (Rock Castle Sloup, caves in Sklalice and Lindava), Radúz and Mahulena (Red pond in Pihel) etc.
The guest house is situated in the area which is connected with the glass production. You can visit the Museum of Glass in Nový Bor and Kamenický Šenov.
Museum of National History in Česká Lípa and History of Fire-Fighting Museum in Nový Oldřichov are worth visiting.
The 600 m long rocky valley is situated between Pihel and Sloup v Čechách and is approximately 2.5 km far from the guest house. Both sides of this valley are bordered with sandstone rocks with several little overhangs and caves. The biggest of them is the Cikánská jeskyně (Gypsy Cave) artificially carved into the rock wall. The massive rock overhang creates an elongated, vaulted space, whose ceiling is supported by two pillars. The cave was been probably created during sand mining.
The operation of punts on the river gorges of Kamenice in Hřensko is attractive destination for tourists. There is a nature trail through Hřensko, Pravčická gate, Mezní meadow, Mezná and gorges of Kamenice. It acquaints visitors with natural, historical curiosities of the landscape.
One of the most visited attractions in the nearby surroundings is the castle Sloup. The castle was built in the late 13th century and is now more like a hermitage. Most remarkable is the room of the church carved in the rock. On top of the rock there is an observation deck 100 meters long and 60 meters wide. You will also find there a statue of a hermit who looks through a telescope towards Samuel Cave, that you can visit along the footpath marked from the castle.
A baroque castle which served as a summer residence of Ferdinand V., the Good during the 19th century. On 1.7. 1900 the wedding of F.F. d'Este and Sophie Chotek was held in the chapel. The interiors, equipped with furniture in the second Rococo style, are decorated with valuable frescoes of J. Navrátil. Zákupy became a duchy and Napoleon´s son Orlík was a Duke. Two bears living in the castle moat also attract the attention of visitors.
Panská Rock is the most famous geological reserve in the country. Located by Prácheň, a village near Kamenický Šenov. It is a towering basalt hill at an altitude of 597 m. Its unique shape is reminiscent of organ pipes. Scenes from the famous fairy tale Pyšná princezna were shot here.
Frýdlant is one of the most important monumental complexes in the country. The premises represent a very valuable combination of two architectural objects - a medieval castle and a Renaissance stately home. Between 1622 - 1634 it was in possession of Albrecht of Valdštejn, Duke of Frýdlant.

The valley is located between Zahrádky village and the city Česká Lípa. This unique locality was declared a protected area. It is about 4 km long. The path that leads through it is bordered by high sandstone cliffs, which also form vertical walls in places.

Is one of the most important Gothic castles in Bohemia, built by Přemysl Otakar II., in the second half of the 13th century. The characteristic silhouette of the castle with two towers forms a memorable landmark of the region. For most visitors it represents a classic medieval castle, since no major reconstructions have been carried out, the castle is still in its original Gothic style to this day.

It was built as a fort in the 14th century. Its earliest history is mostly known in connection with St. Zdislava. The castle exhibition includes artifacts from the history of the castle, with examples of architecture from the 15th to 19th centuries and includes paintings, sculptures and archival materials related to the life of St. Zdislava.
In Liberec you can visit a zoological and botanical garden. Babylon entertainment center provides relaxation and fun for the whole family whatever the weather. You can also visit Ještěd - the landmark of Liberec region, it ofers a wide view of the surroundings. You can take a cable car to get there.
Less than 1 kilometer from the guest house, there is a newly opened golf course Golf Club Česká Lípa, which provides a great experience to golf enthusiasts as well as beginners. Enjoy a day spend in the beautiful surroundings of the golf club, full of exercise in the fresh air!
Cycling and inline skating are popular activities which allow the exploration of interesting places in the area due to the numerous cycling trails. The new cycling trail Varhany is now available from Česká Lípa to Kamenický Šenov. Our guest house offers safe storage for bicycles.

We will be happy to arrange horseback riding for you during the summer time. Calm and trained horses, who are used to people and even small children, are there for you. Before the ride, an experienced rider will give you basic instructions and you will be told something about horses. After that, you can sit on the horse and ride, of course, you will be under the supervision of an experienced rider. It is said that the most beautiful view of the world is on horseback.
The beautiful beaches at Mácha lake give you a place to relax. Mácha lake offers four beaches - Hlavní (main) beach, Klůček in Doksy, Staré Splavy (a spa town) and Pod Borným beach. You will find there boat and pedal boat rentals. There is also an original waterpark in the village of Staré Splavy, with lots of original attractions. The beach Pod Borným offers a natural pool, bike rentals, windsurfing and pedal boats.
You can also visit the natural, outdoor swimming pool in Sloup. This is Radvanecký Pond, whose area covers more than 8 hectares. Part of the pool is a summer camp with huts. There is an artificial beach on the south side. It has been made for relaxation, recreation and swimming.
If you are adrenaline seekers and if you would like to try your prowess, come to the rope park in Sloup in Bohemia. You can climb the treetops, where there are variously modified rope barriers. Everything happens at a height of 5-9 meters above the ground. Climbing is done under professional securing. You will also get an explanation and instructions before climbing. There are two circuits available in the park - the first circuit is suitable for beginners and children. The second circuit is for adults.
You can see the beautiful landscape of the Lužické Mountains from height. Lada airport in Česká Lípa offers public sightseeing flights that will be unforgettable experience for you. You will discover lots of interesting places as well as places, that are less known. You can invent your own route, or the pilot can offer you one.
The aquapark in the Česká Lípa is a good place for active recreation in the hot summer season as well as in winter. The waterpark is located in a newly renovated sports complex. Besides the water attractions, there is of course a swimming pool for fitness and sport swimming. In order to enjoy the water games, visitors can use several water slides and a wild river. Several massage beds, a massage pool and steam rooms or whirlpool maximize your relaxation. There is also a children's pool with a paddling pool, also available for toddlers.
There are beautiful tracks for cross-country skiers in the nearby area, including the cross-country route around Chřibká and Horní Světlá, especially towards Jedlová and Horní Podluží. Another very popular route runs from Jedlová to Svor. You may find several routes even along the border with Germany, which, however, lead beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. So you can go for the ski expressway of Zittau Mountain, that connects the area between the Varnsdorf and Hrádek nad Nisou. The expressway is linked to the three local cross-country circuits, which are close to the German communities Waltersdorf, Jonsdorf and Lückendorf.
In winter, you can use the nearby ski resort Polevsko, which lies between the Medvědí and Polevský hill. Skiers can use the Poma ski lift that is 400 meters long. The lift takes skiers to two slopes that are adequately lit for the night skiing. One slope is blue, the other red. A rope lift and gentle slope for children, are also available, so they could learn the proper technique.
Another nearby ski slope you can visit, is in SKI CLUB Prácheň, which is located near Kamenický Šenov, on the border between the Lužické Mountains and České středohoří (the Czech Central Mountains).
For big fans of skiing and snowboarding Ještěd ski resort is also available, where you may find several slopes of varying difficulty.
